With the county of brant not recommending the tower location at the legion because it is too close to a house.

This of course does not count for elevation so it would not cover as far north.

Maybe télécommunications should have been included in the official plan.

Let’s see I’m no city planner and my years of playing SIM City probably also does not qualify but let’s look at possible locations.

The following are all small cell towers like the one proposed at the Legion. From my research they are safer because they use less power to provide the signal.

Less power = less radiation.

The small circle is the area in which would make the county happy. It is 3 times the height of the tower. I even put a little buffer to make the circle 4 times.

The big circle is the approximate cell coverage. In most cases to have strong signal, your cell phone has to be within 900m.

Here is my first location. Just south west of the town and close enough to cover the lower end of town.

One downside is, I believe a subdivision is already planned for this area.

The second location is a little more south. This location could also be right in the middle of the new subdivision.

My next location is more to the south east of town. And would mainly cover all existing houses and no future development. Also the downtown area is right on the edge of coverage without calculating elevation so those living here might still be out of luck. Also Fire and Thunder might need to find a new location again…

I also did a map from the industrial park and the signal would not reach downtown.
